Sorry I've been away for a week or so, but I went to the Pittsburgh Renaissance Faire  several weeks ago, and along with some wonderful pirating "toys"  I contracted what I have dubbed "The Pennsylvania Crud" (nothing against PA. personally, that's just where I got it) -- basically a nasty head cold that decided to take up residence in my lungs and doesn't want to leave.  Don't have bronchitis or pneumonia - it's just one of those coughs that hang on FOREVER;  and an annoying half-assed dull headache and chills, but no fever.  Needless to say, I haven't been online or submitted artwork or my writing nearly as much as usual.  So I've been play

Of course, my favorite non-official holiday.  So naturally when I had to run to CVS & pick up some med's and the grab a couple of items from the grocery store, of course I HAD to go in full garb.  After all, who better to talk like a pirate than real pirate, eh?  The pharmacy techs had a blast as well as some of the waiting customers.   But why does everyone think all pirates walked around with a parrot on their shoulder?  I don't want no damned bird biting my ear & crapping on me best clothes -- bloody fools.  So I told 'em the parrot got drunk from dipping his crackers in rum.  Then they want to know where's my eye patch? Eye patch?

Finally.   I made it through another summer without going crazy(er)  from the heat rash from Hell.  The night air is cool, the moon dodging in & out of the scattering clouds.  that expectation in the air -- Fall is coming!    Highs in the low to mid 60's for the rest of the week -- YeeeeeHaaaaa!  And going to the Pittsburgh Ren.
